Temperatures and times needed to dry various filaments

As a rule of thumb, filaments shall be dried below the glass transition temperature (Tg) of a material-type to prevent crystallization / softening of the material that could cause the filament to stick together.

TYPE Temperature
---------------------------
PLA 40 to 45°C
Tough PLA 40°C
Nylon 40 to 70°C
TPU95A 40°C
Breakaway 40°C
PVA 50°C
PETG 65°C
CPE 65°C
CPE+ 70°C
PC 70°C
ABS 60 to 70°C
PP Not needed

Dessicants
---------------------------
Silica Gel 65C (149F) at least 3 hours

Note that though calcium chloride can be dried out it requires a more complex method that just sticking it in an dehydrator oven and because of that it is not recomended to do at home.
