Time Machine is great, but... running it as often as it does by default is not okay with me. Others might have the need, i am just not one of them. Because of this, i was searching for an easy, effective and free solution to making Time Machine run on my command / schedule. And of course such a tool is avilable ;-)

Meet TimeMachineEditor !! Read more about it at the website. It is free of charge. And your use of it is at your own risk, as usual with with free software :-)

HOWEVER DO REMEMBER - Your backup is not a REAL backup, until it it transported of your premises. I recommend CrashPlan for this part of the job - it is free too, as long as you do not need to backup to their servers. I have two different apartment's and have set up CrashPlan backup between those.
