Since i want as long jumprange as possible the only Experimental effect that makes sence is Deep Charge. This costs 5 Atypical Disrupted Wake Echoes, 3 Gaalvanising Alloys and one Eccentric Hyperspace Trajectori... Again I was lucky and had all the needed stuff and could apply it immediately - The FSD in my T6 was now able to jump 44.53 LY. That is unengineered jump range was only 32.39 LY. That is 12.14 extra LYs and the engineering isn't even maxed out yet !YAY!

Hunting for [https://elite-dangerous.fandom.com/wiki/Manganese Manganese] starts at eddb.io Here i went to the [https://eddb.io/body Bodies - Search & Find] and entered Manganese in Material Finder textbox and Deciat as the reference system. After the searchresults came up I sorted the rows so the bodies containing highest percentage of Manganese were fitst. After this i found that HIP 48141 have 16.5% Mn and is only 53.11 LY away... Wheels up and chagre that newly modded FSD Commander!!

Preface

My goal for this engineer-grind is to be able to fully engineer this Vulture PVE Combat build from this Elite Dangerous build guide by Exigeous.

Notes:

  1. EXPAND the "More information:" boxes and READ the recomendations - it will save you a LOT of work dd1
  2. Be aware that the higher the grade of your current engeneering the more times you will need to apply the current grade before the next grade become avilable to you. AND you need to do this AT the engineer the first time you need it.
  3. REMEMBER to pin the blueprint of you choice BEFORE you leave the Engineers!
  4. REMEMBER to apply an Experimental Effect of your choice BEFORE you leave the Engineers!

Chapter one - the journey begins.

The first engineer that i got an email invitation from was Tod 'The Blaster' McQuinn. I did not go for him as the first because i wanted to get the FSD Long Range from Felicitry Farseer first because that will save a lot of jumps ;-)

While jumping and honking every system on my way to buy the Meta Alloy Felicity require, i got invitation from Elvira Martuk.

I went back with the Meta Alloy in my cargo, honking all the way to make sure i got to Scout rank in exploration. And sure enough - while selling the cartographics I got my Scout rank and the invite from Felicity. So next chapter will be about her - Tod will have to wait ;-)

Chapter two - Visiting Felicity Farseer

So there i was - ready to travel the 30ish jumps to Deciat, when it dawned on me that certain materials and data is required to perform the engineering enhancemants and i had not collected any yet :-/ I want the long range version wich require these things. So i bought myself a wake scanner and parked around 5 Km outside the mail-slot of a busy starport. This way i could scan a lot of high wakes from the ships that left the starport to obtain the scandata needed. Youi can see them in the "Contacts" panel on the left of your ship.

After scanning a lot of wakes and obtaining 66 Atypical Disrupted Wake Echoes, I went back to Farseer Inc. to get started on the the Increased FSD Range modification. It took 4 applications of Grade 1 to get Grade 2 unlocked. At to apply grade 2 you will need 1 Chemical Processor per application. For some reason i had already collected 21 so i could continue. You ca get these from bounty hunting. they appear after you destroy wanted spaceships. remember to bring collector limpets and a minimum of one Limpet Controller.

I had to apply grade 2 four times to unlock grade 5... this require an additional unit of phosphorus wich you can obtain from surface prospection using an SRV. Look at this guide to learn more on this fun aspect of the game! I had 7 stored already so i pushed on.

After the first application of grade 3 I got information on Juri Ishmaak in my inbox top-left of the cockpit. I will probably get back to him later. I continued to apply grade 3 and once again a total of 4 applications was needed to unlock grade 4. Grade 4 requires one unit of Manganese and this stuff i did not have on hand, so it was ALMOST time to leave Felicity for a while. But not before looking at the Experimental Effects!!

Hunting for Manganese starts at eddb.io Here i went to the Bodies - Search & Find and entered Manganese in Material Finder textbox and Deciat as the reference system. More information:
  1. Time: Short
  2. Best Module: Frame Shift Drives
  3. Requirements:
    1. Exploration rank 'Scout' (requires 270,000 CR profit from Exploration)
    2. Donate 1 Meta Alloy

With a Universal Discovery Scanner and at least 1 Cargo Rack, jump down to Maia and honk every system you jump through. In Maia, you can buy 1 Meta Alloy at Darnielle's Progress.

Once you have the Meta Alloy, go to Eurybia, and turn in your Universal Cartographic data to the Eurybia Blue Mafia. This should give you the appropriate funds to reach Scout, while also helping you with Liz Ryder down the road.

Proceed to Deciat, and donate your Meta Alloy to Felicity Farseer at Farseer Inc. Craft mods with Farseer until you receive information on Juri Ishmaak, then head to the Ngurii system.

Note: It is recommended that you improve your Frame Shift Drive with the Long-Range mod as far as possible. This will make the entire guide considerably easier.

 Pin this:
 FSD - Increased range.

Tod 'The Blaster' McQuinn

More information:
  1. Time to finish: Short
  2. Best Module/s: Multi-Cannons / Rail Guns
  3. Requirements:
    1. You learn about him from common knowledge.
    2. Earn more than 15 Bounty Vouchers to gain access to Trophy Camp in Wolf 397.
    3. Provide 100,000 Cr worth of Bounty Vouchers to Trophy Camp in Wolf 397 to gain access to blueprints.

This one's pretty straight forward. Kill some wanted NPC's at the Nav Beacon in Wolf 397 until you have 100,000 Cr worth, then turn them into Trophy Camp. Rank up Tod McQuinn until you get information on Selene Jean.

 Pin this:
 Multi Cannon - Overcharged.

Liz Ryder

More information:

Time:

  • Moderate

Best Module:

  • Missile Racks
  • Torpedo Pylons

Requirements:

  • Gain Cordial or Friendly Status with the Eurybia Blue Mafia DONE
  • Provide 200 units of Landmines.

You should already be friendly with the Eurybia Blue Mafia from way back in Step One, so all you really need to do is source 200 Tons of Landmines to donate at Demolition Unlimited. Rank Liz Ryder up to grade 3-4, and you should get an invite from Hera Tani.
